Unlike sketches, which are often produced because time is short or the load is large, watercolors like these are produced when I have more time and resources. Often I will bring home partially completed watercolors if I feel I have enough information to move on to another work-- time is precious; I never spend as much time in the Arctic as I would like, and Summer is very short.
